Day 2 - Giza, Grand Egyptian Museum and Saqqara

Explore the Giza Plateau, including the Great Pyramid, Great Sphinx and Valley Temple. Continue to selected collections in the Grand Egyptian Museum, then drive to Saqqara for Djoser's Step Pyramid and the surrounding Old Kingdom complex.

Day 3 - Alexandria Catacombs, Citadel and Library

Travel north to Alexandria and begin at the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. Continue to Pompey's Pillar, Qaitbay Citadel and the modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina before returning to Cairo in the evening.

Day 4 - Fly to Luxor, Board the Cruise and Tour the East Bank

Fly to Luxor, transfer to the Nile ship and complete the embarkation formalities. Visit Karnak's pylons, courts and Hypostyle Hall, then continue to Luxor Temple beside the river. Return to the ship for dinner and the first night on board.

Day 5 - Sail toward Kom Ombo

Settle into the rhythm of the cruise as the ship travels south through the Nile Valley. Spend the day enjoying the river scenery and onboard facilities, with sailing times governed by navigation and lock schedules. Arrive in the Kom Ombo area late in the day or evening.

Day 6 - Kom Ombo Temple and Sail to Aswan

Walk from the riverside to Kom Ombo Temple, an unusual paired sanctuary with duplicated courts and chapels for Sobek and Haroeris. After the guided visit, reboard the ship and continue south toward Aswan.

Day 7 - Abu Simbel Temples

Leave the ship early for the overland journey from Aswan to Abu Simbel. Tour the rock-cut temples of Ramesses II and Queen Nefertari and learn how the complex was relocated above Lake Nasser. Return to Aswan and rejoin the cruise for dinner.

Day 8 - Aswan High Dam, Philae and the Unfinished Obelisk

Visit the High Dam, then examine the unfinished obelisk in the ancient granite quarry. Continue by boat to Philae Temple on Agilkia Island and explore its courtyards and reliefs before returning to the cruise.

Day 9 - Sail north toward Edfu

Spend a second unhurried sailing day as the ship begins the return journey north. Watch villages, fields and desert margins pass from the deck, with the exact pace dependent on river traffic and the cruise operator's schedule. Reach the Edfu area late in the day.

Day 10 - Edfu Temple

Travel from the mooring to Edfu Temple and explore one of Egypt's most complete Ptolemaic sanctuaries. Walk through the monumental pylon, open court, columned halls and inner rooms dedicated to Horus, then return to the ship for the final cruising night.

Day 11 - Luxor West Bank and Flight to Cairo

Disembark in Luxor and cross to the west bank. Enter selected royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings, visit Hatshepsut's terraced temple at Deir el-Bahari and stop at the Colossi of Memnon. Transfer to Luxor Airport afterward and fly back to Cairo.

Day 12 - Egyptian Museum and Historic Cairo

Begin at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, then continue to Saladin's Citadel and the Muhammad Ali Mosque. Visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization and finish with a guided walk along Al-Muizz Street and through Khan El Khalili.
